When I crossed into chemical enhancement at thirty, growth hormone was one of the first things I tested, along with steroids, SARMs, peptides, IGF and insulin. The right HGH dosage depends on what you are trying to do, but the part most people get wrong is timing, not the number. Injected growth hormone shuts down your body’s own night pulse, and that costs you deep sleep. The book covers it in the Mass Blast Protocol, the Fat Loss Matrix, the Sleep Bible and the Bloodwork Bible, so this page puts all of it in one place.
Growth hormone is the recovery hormone. Your pituitary releases it in pulses, and about 70 percent of your daily output comes in the first 3 to 4 hours of sleep, during deep sleep. Then it travels to your liver, which answers with IGF-1, the growth factor that does most of the building.
GH drives muscle protein synthesis, repairs tissue, mobilizes fat and keeps skin and connective tissue thick. However, after thirty your output falls every year.
Injected HGH, on the other hand, is the same molecule made in a lab. Medicine uses it for children who don’t grow and adults with a diagnosed growth hormone deficiency, while bodybuilders use it at much higher doses for fat loss, recovery and size.
Here is the honest picture. Two large reviews from Stanford looked at growth hormone in healthy people, and both are worth knowing.
In healthy older adults, across 31 studies and about 500 people, GH added a little over 2 kg of lean mass and took off about the same amount of fat. But it also caused joint swelling and pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and a trend toward more diabetes and prediabetes [1].
Then, in healthy younger people, across 27 studies, GH increased lean mass, but strength and exercise capacity didn’t improve [2]. The authors noted those studies used lower doses and shorter runs than athletes actually use.
So growth hormone changes body composition. Still, whether it makes you stronger at clinical doses is far less clear. In the book, it lives in the full Level 5 mass protocol, together with other compounds, not as a stand-alone muscle builder.
Growth hormone is also legally different from most compounds in this book. In the US, distributing HGH, or possessing it to distribute, for anything other than an FDA-approved medical use is a federal crime, with up to 5 years in prison. HHS has never approved it for anti-aging, bodybuilding or athletic enhancement [3]. It is also on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list.
